FLOORBALL - for everyone. Play with us!

The fun of playing together is in the main priority for us.

Gay, lesbian, gay, lesiban, bisexual, straight, trans - it doesn't matter!

We are looking forward to welcoming gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight, trans - people. Would you like to do sports with like-minded people in your free time? Gladly with us.

Lust for movement

Unihockey, Floorball, Innebandy - the other sport, outside of the fitness centre / the gym. Fun with people who have a desire to move.

Gay Floorball Events

Joint activities such as participating in recreational tournaments or floorball events at the Eurogames or the Outgames are on the agenda. Eating out as a team. In a restaurant, as a gay team for a beer or two

.

Fun to play floorball - for everyone in and around Berne

If you'd like to try a different sport - check out floorball. Come along or get in touch.

A team, since 2003 > TWENTY YEARS

In summer 2023, we celebrated our 20th anniversary with a cool beach party at David's. We toasted our 20th anniversary in great weather and right by the River Aare.

We are a team of about 10-20 players who got together in spring 2003 to practise their hobby.

Our colourful group currently consists of both queer and non-queer people aged between 23 and 56.

Our floorball group is part of the the Berne LGBTQ+ Sportclub QueerSport Bern.

Play with us

If you decide to become a member, you can do so online at the website of QueerSport Bern (in german only).

The membership fee is CHF 85.--/year.
(Floorball: 55, Membership QueerSport: 30)

Individual solutions can be provided for people without their own income.

Thanks to Markus

A very special thank you goes to our long-time "coach" Markus. Without him, the sports group would not exist. For almost twenty years, he made sure that everything about the sports group was always perfectly organised.

It's a pity that the sports group has been so successful.

It is a pity that Markus is no longer allowed to actively run through the hall with us. His hip and he unfortunately disagree on what is good and what is fun.

Training

We meet on Fridays from 6:00 pm. We do play from 6:15 pm until about 8:15 pm. The training takes place in the sporthall of the French School, Bern Wittigkofen.

Registration for the training

Please register via Nuudle by Thursday noon. In principle, training sessions will take place if there are at least six registrations by Thursday. We will confirm by SMS on Friday morning at the latest if the training will take place.

We cannot train during the school holidays. Please note the holiday schedule of the French School.

Not sure? Have questions?

Get in touch with Tom on 079 464 76 12 (SMS / WhatsApp / call), e-Mail.

Interested - come on over!

Would you like to come and have a look? We would love to - we are happy to welcome new faces.

Previous experience is ideal, but not a prerequisite. The fun of playing in a team and the joy of movement might motivate you to become a new team member. After a few taster sessions you can decide whether you want to join us or not.

We would be very happy to hear from you. Contact Tom on 079 464 76 12 (SMS / WhatsApp / call), e-Mail

Are there risks or side effects? Insurance?

Yes, there is a risk of injury. If you warm up and stretch well, you can reduce the risk. Please note that we do not offer insurance cover for accidents. Players who are not covered by compulsory company accident insurance must have private accident insurance. The QueersportBern association accepts no liability.

People who are new to floorball should expect sore muscles in the days following their first training sessions.

Location of the Sporthall

Jupiterstrasse 2, 3015 Bern

How do you come to the place?

From Bern railway station, take the tram in the direction of Saali and get off at the Egghölzli or Wittikofen stop.

A = From the Egghölzli stop in the direction of the motorway (Visana building). Cross the bridge along the tram tracks. The gymnasium is on the left down by the sports fields.

B = From the Wittikofen stop, walk back along the tram tracks on the footpath. The gym is on the right before the motorway bridge.

Activities

We rarely skip the beer (optionally non-alcoholic) after training. Usually accompanied by a fine pizza from the restaurant around the corner. Talking about sport or life itself in a sociable setting is also part of it

.

Long history

In the "long history" of the team, we have already experienced quite a lot together. The highlight was certainly the silver medal at the Outgames in Copenhagen in 2009, where we were only beaten by the Swedes.

Before and after that, we took part in the Raballder in Oslo several times. Always with a lot of fun, but never really with great success. The competitors from Scandinavia were always too well trained and the necessary luck was not on our side!

In the years 2013-2016 we participated in tournaments (HotHelsinki tournament, Eurogames Stockholm, Eurogames Helsinki)

.

Past tournaments

Raballdercup 2014 and Eurogames 2015

Other activities

On Fridays, when the hall is closed for school holidays, we have occasionally done other things together. From apero to participation in the club hike to the already almost legendary GoKart races.
